Chad has been a CFO and board director at multiple transformative companies. Chad joined Zillow just after launch as its first finance employee and quickly rose to CFO. In 2011, he led Zillow’s IPO and grew it to a market capitalization of over $5 Billion.
He joined Adaptive Biotechnologies, a blood cancer diagnostic and immune medicine platform, in 2015. Four years later, Chad led its IPO, which was one of the largest biotech IPOs of the year, raising nearly $350 million. Adaptive Biotechnologies grew to over $9 Billion in market capitalization in 2021.
Chad most recently held dual roles as both CFO and COO at Capella Space, a private venture capital backed earth observation and satellite company. In addition to his multi-sector CFO roles, Chad has also held both public (Trupanion and Vacasa) and private (Adaptive Biotechnologies and Ticketfly) board director roles where he was Audit Chairman.
Chad moved to Silicon Valley in the middle of the dot com revolution in 1997, starting his career as a financial analyst at Novellus Systems. He then spent the next few years as a CPA at Ernst & Young, auditing many of the start-up companies that today are household names and multi-billion dollar companies. He then worked at Ticketmaster Entertainment running Sarbanes Oxley compliance and accounting as Assistant Controller.
Chad was named CFO of the Year by the Puget Sound Business Journal in 2013 and 2020. He lives outside Seattle with his wife and two daughters.
Ryan’s combination of valuation and operating experience provides companies a differentiated and critical view. He deeply understands what investors seek and has first-hand experience crafting that narrative within companies.
Ryan began his career in investment banking at Houlihan Lokey before joining the sell-side research team at William Blair. During his seven years at William Blair, Ryan primarily focused on the consumer technology vertical, covering more than 50 companies and participating in 15 public company offerings.
Following his tenure at William Blair, he joined Grubhub, where he worked in investor relations and corporate development during a transformative period in the food delivery industry. In 2021, he joined Vacasa during a dynamic time for the short-term rental industry. There, he was VP of investor relations, and also worked on business strategy, corporate development and long-range planning.
Ryan lives in Denver with his wife.
